Walking in His Promises

category

Hi there and welcome to the series we’re calling “Walking in His Promises”.  Whether you saw a social media post, received an email or stumbled upon this blog, we welcome you! Before we really dive into this series I wanted to explain a little of where this idea of “Walking in God’s Promises” originated from.

In the wake of what is happening in the world today with the COVID-19 virus aka Coronavirus, we at Promise Chocolates wanted to share encouragement and light in the midst of worry, anxiety and really what seems like darkness to some.  We are all in this together.  I mean literally…..the whole world is affected by this virus and when the news of the coronavirus seems to change hour by hour, if not minute by minute, it lends to more anxiousness among people. Rather than adding to the worry, we wanted to be more of an encouragement to others.

Each of us on the Promise Chocolates team have been praying and seeking God for comfort and guidance during this unprecedented time and each, in our own timing, felt a spiritual tugging to do something more.  It’s the Holy Spirit’s fashion to dwell within God’s people, 1 Corinthians 12:7, to teach and make the will of God known, and He was leading each of us to speak of who He is in our lives….especially in light of what’s happening in the world.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. 1 Corinthians 12:7

We all felt that we were to dive into the various promises in the Bible and speak more on how they have been applied to our own lives in hopes to encourage you, our readers. We hope that you can see how they may apply to your lives, in either your current or your past life experiences.

There will be multiple people contributing to the blog posts so between all of us you may hear some of our personal experiences pertaining to the versus or you may hear what we’ve learned through studying the scripture.  One thing you won’t find in our writing is theological teaching on the scriptures.  We do not claim to be theologians and therefore we cannot speak on such matters.  We take very seriously what the Bible has to say about teachers of the scriptures:

let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgement.

We do however know that we as the body of Christ are called to be Evangelists, to share the hope we have in Christ.  So we hope that as this series unfolds, people will be encouraged and uplifted in knowing that Christ has always been for us and that God is truly in control.
